CHRISTMAS FIRST FOR BINGO WINNER
07/11/2007

Completing her full house in 40 calls was enough to secure the £100,000 national jackpot for a 50-year-old Sprowston woman, the game's operating body reports.

But she is in no hurry to spend the money - with the funds likely to rest in her account in the run-up to Christmas.

The winner, Julie, suggests that a holiday is the most probable way in which some of the money will be spent.

"I can't think yet what else I'm going to spend the money on as it's still too much of a shock," she tells National Bingo.

But it may take more than a holiday to spend the six-figure sum - which the winner explains came as a surprise even after she knew she had hit the jackpot.

She reveals: "I thought I must have just won the house prize - my friend had to tell me three times how much I had actually won."

The £100,000 sum is on offer to players nationwide on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but is often shared between a number of winners who reach a full house on the same ball.
