NEW CLUB GETS FIRST UK BINGO WINNER
03/12/2007The Sutton Riva club first opened its doors in May - and has rounded off its opening year by scooping the UK bingo jackpot, National Bingo reveals.
A 30-year-old member of the club became the first big winner since it opened recently, with a £45,000 national jackpot win.
General manager Andrew Smith tells the operating body that he hopes to make many more players rich in the coming months.
"We had 300 people in that afternoon and there was a great atmosphere when we announced how much she had won," he explains.
"We are all delighted for her and I am sure she will be the first of many big winners here."
Daily players of the UK bingo link game may be forced to miss out for a day soon - but only because the contest is not held on Christmas Day, National Bingo states.
