BINGO DREAMS COME TRUE FOR KIRKBY WINNER
06/12/2007While many bingo fans may dream of hitting big on the UK bingo jackpot, for one woman the fantasy recently became a reality.
The 44-year-old was not alone, sharing the £100,000 jackpot equally with two other players in Loughborough and Cramlington.
She was happy with her £33,333 though - and tells game operator National Bingo that she is "still in a dream".
"I was shocked but dead excited on the night and my brother, who was playing with me, was ecstatic," she adds.
The lucky winner is divorced and has two daughters and a total of five grandchildren - whom she plans to treat with Christmas presents.
Her win comes after some 26 years of playing the national game, having taken up bingo as a hobby from the age of 18.
National Bingo reveals that the most commonly given reasons for playing given by UK bingo fans include that the game is fun and because it offers a chance to socialise.
