BRACE OF BINGO WINS IN HULL
11/12/2007Members of the Astoria Bingo club in Holderness Road, Hull, had double the reason to celebrate in recent days, reports National Bingo.
Two of the club's players hit the UK bingo jackpot on the same day, earning £20,000 and £16,666 respectively.
And their plans for the money might not be what many people would expect in the run-up to Christmas.
For far from planning on purchasing festive treats with the cash, one intends to leave it in the bank, while the other is more specific in her desires.
"A new front door - I hope it is a lucky one," she tells National Bingo when asked what she plans to buy.
The Astoria club also proved lucky in May, when one member claimed a £25,000 UK bingo jackpot.
This followed some £88,000 of prizes scooped by the venue over the course of 2006, figures from the game operator show.
