12/12/2007The operating body of UK bingo reveals that one 50-year-old Heaton Norris player is to celebrate a "wonderful Christmas".
And that is thanks in no small part to having recently scooped the £45,000 UK bingo jackpot.
Sean Connolly, manager of the Gala Bingo club in Stockport - where the lucky punter's numbers came up - explains that she was shaken but not stirred by the win.
He tells National Bingo: "She was over the moon when we told her how much she had won.
"She said what a lovely surprise and it was going to be a most wonderful Christmas for her and her family."
While the total jackpot up for grabs was £90,000, a Bradford player also hit a full house in 40 balls to claim an equal share of the loot.
Figures from National Bingo show the UK bingo jackpot went to Stockport players three times in 2006, resulting in more than £170,000 being given to Gala Bingo members.
