Under new rules from UK bingo operating body National Bingo, the platinum jackpot is guaranteed to be won on the last Sunday of every month.

This is in addition to being claimed by anyone who completes their full house on ball 90 during the regular national games.

For one lucky bingoer, the play-off on Sunday January 27th means she can afford to visit her son in New Zealand after landing a £339,000 win.

She also has a few more purchases already under her belt, reports National Bingo, including giving away £100,000 to family and friends.

The winner tells the organisation: "My husband's first words to me were 'can I get a new car?'.

"So we've just been out and ordered a spanking brand-new Vauxhall Meriva."

It was recently revealed that the biggest ever bingo win had occurred as the entire £1.1 million platinum jackpot was scooped by a South Wales woman.
