MUM FINDS FORTUNE FROM FIRING

A mum from Wales was thanking her lucky stars that she got sacked from her job this week as she won the jackpot at bingo instead.

Phyllis Jones, a 58-year-old mother-of-three from Newport, Gwent, was given her marching orders from her job, but that was where her bad luck ran out, the Sunday Mirror reports.

Rather than spending the afternoon at work, she decided to play a bingo game called Afternoon Delight. And to her immense delight she took home a whopping £20,600.

She told the newspaper: "I was made redundant from the factory where I worked for nearly six years.

"They have done me a favour in the long run as I wouldn't have had this win otherwise. I usually play bingo one or two evenings a week and never played in the day."
