BINGO BUDDIES SHARE BOOTY
06/05/2008A £64,000 UK bingo jackpot win is to be shared between the winner and a friend, it has been revealed.
The game's operating body in the UK, National Bingo, explains that the deal is a long-running agreement between the pair.
Both the 74-year-old winner and her friend previously promised to split any earnings, with the £64,000 UK bingo jackpot no exception.
The victory came at the Gala Bingo club in Nottingham after the lucky winner completed her card in the fewest calls nationwide.
After playing three times a week for 19 years, she jokes that she and her friends are practically "part of the furniture".
"I'm still thinking about what I'm going to do with my winnings," she tells National Bingo.
"It's a lot to take in when you've never had money before."
Nottingham players have proved lucky in the past, securing more than £800,000 in UK bingo jackpots according to National Bingo figures.
One lucky punter scooped almost a quarter of this with an individual sum of more than £200,000 in January 2007.
