BINGO SUCCESS FOR SUNDAY FIRST TIMER
29/05/2008A recent UK bingo national jackpot was secured by a 43-year-old Doncaster player on her first Sunday visit to the town's Gala Bingo venue.
UK bingo operating body National Bingo explains that the lucky punter usually plays mid-week on a Tuesday or Thursday.
But one Sunday recently she escaped to the Gala Bingo club while her husband went to watch the football at a pub.
Her £187,000 win might seem like a fluke in light of the fact - but that is not the only chance occurrence which led to her being there.
"I only joined the Gala club in Wheatley Hall Road originally four years ago so that I could use the loo," the winner admits to National Bingo.
She adds: "Then I decided I liked playing bingo."
Her victory is still not the greatest prize secured by a Gala Bingo member in Doncaster, according to National Bingo figures.
The operating body reveals that one individual claimed £201,429 in October 2006.
