ONLINE BINGO MARKET TO GROW

The market for online bingo could see considerable growth in the coming years, an expert believes.

Joe Saumarez-Smith, chief executive officer of Sports Gaming, said in an article for Bloomberg that experts believe both European and UK bingo on the internet could see growth in the coming years.

He noted that Warwick Bartlett, chair of Global Betting and Gaming Consultants, recently told the 2008 Online Bingo Summit that with the continued growth of access to broadband, online bingo is set to grow even further.

"We estimate that by 2012 online bingo will account for 25 per cent of the worldwide betting market," he said.

UK online bingo has experienced growth over the past couple of years, Mr Saumarez-Smith noted, adding that further European expansion could take place before 2011.

The bingo summit was the third annual event and saw figures from across the online bingo industry come together, Bullet Business claims.
