UK BINGO PLATINUM JACKPOT WON
08/07/2008The UK bingo Platinum Jackpot has been won by a 20-year-old bingo rookie on only her third time of playing the game.
Emma Johnston claimed £313,000 as she secured the jackpot at the Mecca Bingo Forge club in Glasgow, reports the game's operating body National Bingo.
She says she now intends to buy a flat - and expects to have more money left to spend after doing so.
Ms Johnston tells National Bingo: "I just couldn't believe it when they told me how much I had won."
She adds that her grandmother is responsible for her initially taking up the game of chance as a hobby.
"I am sharing the prize money with her and even she says it isn't real," she continues.
She is not the only example of 'third time lucky' in the UK bingo world recently, as National Bingo reported previously.
A 21-year-old playing at the Mecca Bingo venue in Brierley Hill, Dudley, earned £16,000 on June 26th after scooping a share in the national jackpot.
