UK BINGO WINNERS DO NOT REALISE
21/07/2008It might seem unlikely that a player could win more than £30,000 on the UK bingo national game and not even realise that they had done so.
But that is just what happened recently, not just once but twice, at the Gala Bingo club in Irvine and the Gaiety club in Whitehaven.
National Bingo reports that both women knew they had won their local game, but thought their prize was the house jackpot.
"We thought we'd just won the house prize so we were on our way out of the club when a member of staff stopped us," the 63-year-old Irvine winner tells the game's operating body.
The 24-year-old Whitehaven victor adds: "I didn't think anything of it because I just thought I'd won the house prize."
She continues that she was "shocked" when she finally did realise that she had scooped more than £30,000 on the UK bingo link game.
