GALA BINGO AIMS FOR 3M BREAKTHROUGH
21/10/2008The total amount raised for breast cancer research by online bingo is pushing the £3 million mark in 2008, Gala Bingo reveals.
According to the UK bingo operator, £2.75 million has already been raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Now it is calling for all of its members to help push through the £3 million mark after five years of support from across the bingo industry.
Online bingo players are advised to look out for Bingo for Breakthrough games on the Gala Bingo website in order to add their contribution to the pot.
"Since 2003 the bingo industry has raised an amazing £2.75 million," the website asserts.
"Let's make 2008 a year to remember and hit the £3 million mark!" it adds.
Michelle Collins, the celebrity "face" of Bingo for Breakthrough in 2008, claims to be "amazed" by the variety of ways in which people can help to raise funds.
She suggests that, with the support of bingo players across the country, the initiative can be expected to achieve "great success".
