ONLINE BINGO SITE CREATES NEW JOBS

Online bingo site Tombola.co.uk is to take on 30 extra workers at its headquarters in the north-east, reports the Northern Echo.

According to the newspaper, the jobs come on "the back of a boom" within the internet gambling sector.

The source claims that the site also plans to take on 30 more staff within the next few months, which will see its workforce swell to 130.

The Northern Echo says that Tombola.co.uk is one of the biggest and most popular online bingo sites in the UK.

Dawn Clayton, marketing manager at the site, told the newspaper that Tombola.co.uk was pleased with the reaction from UK gamers.

She said: "We are thrilled with the way online bingo players across the UK have responded to our fun approach to online entertainment and now we're in a great position to share our success with job-seekers in this region."

Tombola first began operating on the site of the Sun newspaper before branching off and becoming independent.
