OBAMA STEPMOTHER VISITS HOSPICE
05/03/2009The stepmother of US president Barack Obama has visited a hospice to present them with money raised from an online bingo game, it has been reported.
Kezia Obama, 67, paid the staff and residents at a Sue Ryder hospice in Henley-on-Thames a visit to give them a cheque for £20,000 last week.
She fronted a recent online bingo campaign from Gala Bingo, which was launched to coincide with the inauguration of her stepson in January.
She said that she was happy to use her good fortune to help Sue Ryder Care.
"I am delighted to have helped raise such a fantastic amount of money for such a worthy charity," she said.
Gala Bingo is to continue to try and raise money for Sue Ryder Care until 2010 and is aiming to hit the million mark.
Sue Ryder Care says it aims to "put back" what conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and cancer take away from a person.
