BINGO PLAYING OBAMA IN FUNDRAISING DRIVE
07/04/2009The stepmother of US President Barack Obama is in South Africa to try and raise money for charity by playing bingo.
Kezia Obama, 66, from Bracknell, is in South Africa to try and raise funds for Operation Hunger, which is the chosen charity of Viva Bingo.
She has previously been involved in the Mrs Obama bingo promotion with Gala Bingo, which was run to coincide with the inauguration of President Obama.
Talking to the South African Times, Mrs Obama - who was married to Obama''s father Barack Snr - said: "When I was asked to come to South Africa, I said ''Yes, definitely yes''. If you are in a position to help, you do."
She went on to comment: "I like it here very much. It is a lovely country."
Group director of Viva Bingo Carl Peters told the newspaper that Kezia was interested in supporting the Operation Hunger initiative as it dealt with issues close to her heart.
