ONLINE BINGO ''DEFIES THE DOWNTURN''
21/04/2009Online bingo has "flourished in recent years" and has defied the negative impact of the economic downturn, one online gaming commentator has claimed.
In an article for Gaming Alerts, writer Jamie notes that the papers have been filled every day with news on the ongoing economic slowdown.
However, the writer goes on to point out that some sectors have continued to perform well, online gambling included.
"Online bingo is one sector which has flourished in recent years, partly due to the introduction of social and community features on several leading sites," the writer comments.
The sector is now a multi-million pound industry, Jamie says, which is growing steadily and contributing to the economy.
One bingo site which is continuing to be popular with gamers is Gala Bingo, which recently announced the launch of a new "cosmic-themed" bingo section of its site, Galaxy Bingo.
Players who want to sign up for the new game can take advantage of a free £5 bonus on the site.
