MARYPORT COUPLE IN THE MONEY

A couple from Maryport in Cumbria are celebrating after winning a total of some £1.2 million in an online bingo game.

Lynsey Mirehouse of King''s Court, Maryport, played a game of online bingo on Mecca Bingo earlier this week and scooped the seven-figure jackpot.

The couple are reportedly still unsure as to what to do with their winnings. They told reporters that they are trying to keep a low profile.

Winning such an amount of money left the couple in shock, but it is understood they held a small party to celebrate their win with close friends earlier this week.

A spokesperson for Mecca Bingo told local paper the Times and Star that the prize was one of the largest the firm has ever seen, adding that it is fantastic news one of its players has walked away with such a sum of money.

Lynsey and her husband Barry only found out about the win when she logged on to her online bingo account with Mecca Bingo on Tuesday (June 30th).
