BINGO GEORGE REPORTS PARENTAL DOUBT
10/06/2008Despite having a claim form in his hand, George Carter could not convince his parents he had won the UK bingo jackpot.
The lucky 20-year-old tells National Bingo of their doubt following his £21,000 success at his local Gala Bingo club.
However, their disbelief has not prevented him from starting to spend the money, with a holiday to Lanzarote on the cards.
George tells the UK bingo operating body that he also plans to place a deposit on a flat.
"My parents didn't believe me when I told them, even when I showed them the claims form the club had given me," he tells National Bingo.
"They thought I had been to a mate's house to make it."
His victory came on May 31st at the Gala Bingo venue at Basingstoke Leisure Park on only his third visit to a bingo hall in the past two years.
The club proved lucky twice in 2007, paying out a £50,000 UK bingo jackpot in August and a £100,000 sum in April.
