Although Easter is often associated with chocolate eggs and hot cross buns, for one Premiership footballer this time of year is all about bingo.
Many top-flight footy players may wish to spend their spare time buying flash cars or improving their golf handicap but for one player UK bingo is the perfect pastime.
Following signing a new contract with the Premier League team, Middlesbrough defender David Wheater has suggested that he may open his own bingo club, the Northern Echo reports.
"With my new deal I might even open my own bingo hall!," he added.
A regular at a nearby amusement facility in East Cleveland, he reported how he often goes visits for an ice cream and some bingo.
However, the England under-21 defender was recently told that the bingo hall isn't due to open again until Easter.
Wheater also reported that bingo has played a role in his romantic life, as it is at his local club where he met his partner.
In other UK bingo news, it was recently revealed that a 55 year old from Golders Green had scooped some £390,000 on National Bingo's platinum jackpot play-off.
