DOUBLE SHOCK FOR BINGO COUPLE

The winner of a recent UK bingo jackpot was not the only one in shock, it has been revealed.

Catford's Mecca Bingo club was the venue for a victory worth more than £80,000 recently, reports National Bingo.

Some £78,740 came by virtue of the national UK bingo jackpot, while a further £3,178 regional prize and the house prize of £200 took it beyond the benchmark figure.

The winner tells National Bingo: "I jumped for joy when I found out how much I'd won.

"I was so excited, my husband and I couldn't believe it - we were both in shock."

She adds that the biggest previous win in her ten years of taking part in UK bingo games was about £1,000.

Figures from National Bingo show the Catford Mecca Bingo venue has been lucky a number of times in the past.

The most profitable of these was a £100,000 jackpot secured by one of the club's players in May 2007.
