HAPPY BINGO BIRTHDAY FOR GRAN

One woman's 66th birthday could come with more celebrations than usual following a win at the bingo.

The UK bingo jackpot of £33,000 was won by Barbara Powell from Risca recently, game operator National Bingo reports.

Her victory comes just days before her birthday, making it a double celebration for the lucky punter.

The caller at the Castle Club, Perry, might also have cause for merriment, as the winner tells National Bingo.

"I went mad when I realised how much I had won and stood on the table shouting yippee," she informs the operating body.

"I then ran down the stairs and gave Perry, the caller, a kiss."

Her win comes after nine years of taking part in the popular game of chance and the money is to be split equally with a friend as the pair previously promised.

The news follows a 70-year-old Taunton woman's £29,000 success on the Afternoon Delight link game at her local Mecca Bingo club.
