Barbara Young, the actress who played Doreen Fenwick on Coronation Street, tried her hand at bingo calling in recent days.
A post on online resource Corrieblog explains that the soap opera artiste - who has also appeared in Family Affairs on five - acted as bingo caller for a number of games as part of a fundraising event at Hendon in London.
Ms Young's efforts helped to raise a grand total of £755 for Jewish Care's Clore Manor home.
The Jewish Chronicle explains that two residents at the home - Golda Fox and Julia Abrahams - donated their bingo winnings back to the facility.
In other bingo news, Reuters recently reported that a deal has been signed between Mirada and ITV which will see live bingo games screened on television.
The firm said that the free-to-play bingo game will be broadcast five nights per week as a result of the deal.
