NO MORE POTATOS FOR BINGO WINNER
21/05/2008A UK bingo fan who goes potato-picking to pay for Christmas could find there is no need to do so this year, the game's operating body reveals.
National Bingo reports that the Harlow woman has scooped the UK bingo jackpot of £63,000 within a week of her 73rd birthday.
With six sons, one daughter and a total of five grandchildren, there has been no shortage of well-wishers.
The lucky winner tells National Bingo: "They are all over the moon for us and say it is lovely to be able to do what we want with it at our age.
"We have always struggled with a large family to bring up."
Her success was secured after calling bingo on 36 balls - the fewest required to complete a card nationwide.
The news follows a £33,000 bingo win secured by a woman from Risca just two weeks before her 66th birthday, as National Bingo previously reported.
