A 71-year-old grandmother was left in something of a state following a recent win on the UK bingo Platinum jackpot, it has been revealed.
The win came at the Gala Bingo venue in Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne, on July 7th, reports game operator National Bingo.
Comprising the Platinum jackpot, national jackpot, regional and house prizes, in all the victory was worth £320,691.
The winner tells National Bingo that she stopped playing bingo for about 20 years following a run of bad luck as a girl.
She joined Gala Bingo Byker when it opened and has won in the past, with her largest payout previously standing at around £300.
But the latest win left her in shock, as she tells the game operator: "It just won't sink in - my head is like cotton wool."
Many people may recognise the name of the venue from Byker Grove, the children's TV show set in the area which launched the careers of actress Donna Air and presenters Ant and Dec.
