A number of UK bingo players have been made "very happy" by sharing in the platinum jackpot play-off, it has been revealed.
The assertion came from the game's operating body, National Bingo, following the news that 169 people had shared in the winnings for August.
National Bingo Game Association communications manager Steve Baldwin said: "We have created three bingo millionaires in the last eight months.
"And today the national bingo game has made a great many people very happy with substantial wins."
The organisation reported "massive celebrations" in UK bingo clubs after those who shared in the prize claimed more than £6,000 each.
In July, one UK bingo player discovered she had claimed even more than she thought after scooping the entire platinum jackpot.
National Bingo revealed that she had thought her winnings amounted to £56,000 - but had actually secured more than £578,000 after receiving the entire accumulated prize fund.
